Tyler Robertson is as hot on the field right now as the crawfish getting boiled around Acadiana.

The junior from Montgomery, Alabama was named Player of the Week today by the Sun Belt conference office in New Orleans after a dominating performance over the last week, including 6 RBIs and extending his hitting streak to 13 games against ULM on Easter weekend at home.

Robertson is now hitting at a .314 clip in 2022 with 8 doubles, 2 homers, and 16 RBIs on his stat line so far. He also has a slugging percentage of .446 and an on-base percentage of .394.

Robertson and the Cajuns (20-15, 9-6 SBC) will travel to Baton Rouge tonight to take on #22/#23 LSU (23-12, 7-8 SEC) for a non-conference midweek matchup. This is the final Wally Pontiff Jr Classic, closing the book on what has been an incredible event in honor of the late Wally Pontiff Jr. First pitch from Alex Box Stadium and Skip Bertman Field is set for 6:30 pm and you can listen to all the action on The Game – 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles – Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station.
