The New Orleans Saints were completely outplayed and outmatched on Sunday on the way to a 39-17 loss on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Saints started out strong capitalizing off of a interception by Brandon Browner in the endzone by marching down the field and Brees connecting with Benjamin Watson on a short pass to go up early.
But the Eagles responded quickly with Ryan Matthews getting in with a 2-yard jaunt to tie things up.
Kicker Caleb Sturgis gave Philly the lead with a 39-yarder going through the uprights in the closing seconds of the first half.
Zach Hocker tied it up for the Saints with a 21-yarder early in the third quarter, but after that the Eagles took over for the remainder of the game thanks in part to several turnovers by the Saints.
The Saints (1-4) have little time to get ready for their next opponent, NFC South rival the Atlanta Falcons (5-0) with kickoff set for 7:25 pm.
