The New Orleans Saints have found their new guy.
Klint Kubiak will become the newest offensive coordinator of the Black and Gold. Kubiak was most recently the passing game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers.
The son of Gary Kubiak was the top target for the Saints but no move could be made until the end of the team’s season that Kubiak coached, which was the 49ers, who finished their 2023-2024 season in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday.
Ian Rapoport made the news official via X.
Before his short time in the Bay Area with Kyle Shanahan, Kubiak held the same position and had his second of two stints with the Denver Broncos. This time as the quarterbacks coach during the 2022-2023 season.
Three years before then, Kubiak spent time with the Minnesota Vikings as their quarterbacks coach and became their OC in the 2021-2022 season.
2016-2018 was the first go-around with the Broncos as an offensive assistant but Kubiak was the wide receivers coach for Kansas during the 2015 season.
The New Orleans Saints made the hire after the organization moved on from its long-time offensive coordinator, Pete Carmichael. Carmichael has been with the team since 2006 when Sean Payton brought him in as a part of his initial hiring staff.
Now, Carmichael followed Payton to Denver and the Saints have their new guy to run an offense that is headlined by players such as Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, and Derek Carr.
