METAIRIE — The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a former LSU Tiger and Acadiana native.

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday that the club has signed wide receiver Travin Dural.

The 6-foot-2, 207-pound Dural was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Saints in 2017. The Breaux Bridge native was a member of the practice squad during the 2017 season and then spent the entire 2018 season on the Injured/Reserved for the team after breaking a bone in his arm during training camp.

“He’s familiar with what we’re doing and we’re low on numbers,” Saints head coach Sean Payton said Tuesday. “He’s been training. We felt when we released him that there would be a good chance there would be a day like today that we would bring him back. Fortunately, we were able to.”

After redshirting his freshman season, Dural would go on to become a four-year letterman and three-year starter at LSU from 2013-16. In 46 games (30 starts), Dural hauled in 100 receptions for 1,716 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Dural was a standout football player and track and field star at Breaux Bridge High School.

Dural’s senior season in 2011, Dural caught 42 passes for 902 yards and 19 total touchdowns and earned first-team all-state honors as Breaux Bridge advanced to the Class 4A state semifinals.

Dural was also the 200-meter state champion.

The Saints also signed running back Robert Kelley while also terminating the contract of running back Javorius Allen and defensive back Chris Campbell.

The 6-foot-2, 229-pound Kelley originally was signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2016 out of Tulane.

The New Orleans native and former O. Perry Walker High School star played in 24 games (16 starts) for Washington. Kelley has 906 yards with nine rushing touchdowns and while catching 16 passes for 100 yards with one touchdown.
