The New Orleans Saints have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Anthony Chickillo to a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Chickillo was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Steelers. The 6-foot-3 linebacker played for the Miami Hurricanes during his collegiate career and he has spent the last five seasons at Pittsburgh.
The new Saints signing played in 11 games last season and 65 games overall in his first five years. Chickillo has recorded 97 total tackles, 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles during his time with the Steelers.
Chickillo also has special teams experience. He played in 51 percent of the Steelers’ special teams snaps last season.
There are no further financial details on the deal.
