The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
The 26-year-old was invited to try out for the team as part of their rookie mini-camp last week. He did enough to earn a contract with the team.
Peoples-Jones was a sixth-round pick out of Michigan to the Cleveland Browns in 2020. He spent more than three seasons with the club before finishing his 2023 season with the Detroit Lions.
The 2022 season was a breakout of sorts, as Peoples-Jones caught a career high 61 passes for 839 yards and three touchdowns.
He did not play in the NFL last season, however, and will attempt to make his return with the Saints.
At 6’2, 205 lbs, Peoples-Jones offers a bigger body than most of the current wideouts on the New Orleans roster.
The player known as DPJ will attempt to make Kellen moore’s first roster in 2025.
