After a 46-41 win on Saturday against the Alabama Crimson Tide, the LSU Tigers moved up to the top spot in the second College Football Playoff rankings that were released on Tuesday.
This is the first time in the six-year history of the College Football Playoff Rankings that the Tigers were ranked No. 1.
The Buckeyes move to No. 2 with Clemson and Georgia moving from the first teams out of the field in the initial rankings to No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. These Tigers remain undefeated after obliterating NC State 55-10 last week, while the Bulldogs are the top-ranked one-loss team and are coming off a 27-0 win against Missouri. The Crimson Tide slot into the No. 5 spot and remain within striking distance of the playoff as their only loss is to top-ranked LSU.
