During Drew Brees’ press conference on Wednesday, he stated that he has every intention of playing this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, despite later saying that he was day-to-day.
Brees should not play a single snap this Sunday. With an injury like that to your throwing arm, especially with the past injuries to his shoulder it could spell disaster for not only the Saints, but Brees as well. If the Saints want to keep Brees healthy and still with the team in 2016, Luke McCown should be getting the start and give Brees the proper amount of time to heal up.
If Brees comes back too soon, he could possibly ruin his rotator cuff and possibly end his career before he wants to. Even if Brees says he feels better, he should still sit for at least one game, even if it’s against a division rival like the Carolina Panthers.
