Southern University dominated the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference Spring Football Teams, as a total of 12 Jaguars received honors.

Junior defensive end Jordan Lewis earned All-SWAC First Team honors and was selected SWAC Defensive Player of the Year. Lewis led the SWAC and FCS in sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (15). Lewis was also a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Joining Lewis on the All-SWAC First Team Defense were fellow Jaguars defensive end Jalen Ivy and senior safety Chase Foster.

Southern also had several players receive All-SWAC First Team Offense honors, including former Pine Prairie High running back Jerodd Sims, guard Brian Williams, center Dallas Black, tackle J’Atyre Carter, wide receiver Ethan Howard and Cesar Barajas at both punter and kicker.

Senior offensive lineman Johnathan Bishop and redshirt junior offensive lineman Jermiah Stafford earned second-team honors.

Alabama A&M and Southern University led all member institutions with 12 total selections. The All-SWAC Teams were voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
