As the state of Louisiana braces for a severe storm system to sweep through the state on Tuesday, college baseball programs postponed-canceled mid-week matchups.
LSU (15-5) moved its scheduled game against Louisiana Tech (14-6) to Wednesday. The Tigers and Bulldogs will take the field for first pitch at 6:30 p.m.
The contest can be heard live on THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles — Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station.
Louisiana (9-10) pushed its mid-week road trip to Thibodaux to take on Nicholls from Tuesday to Wednesday as well.
The Ragin’ Cajuns will now take on the Colonels at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
McNeese was scheduled to face former Southland Conference member Stephen F. Austin on the road in Nacogdoches, Texas on Tuesday. The 80th meeting between the old conference rivals was canceled due to the threat of the storm system.
The two teams will not reschedule the contest.
McNeese (10-9) will be back in action on Friday when they begin Southland Conference play against Houston Baptist University. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Joe Miller Ballpark.
