The arrival of summer weather makes millions of people want to get that “beach body” or “bathing suit body.” This brings the scammers out. The internet makes it easy for them. Beware of weight loss scams on the web, especially social media. Scammers often claim celebrities have lost huge amounts of weight using their programs, and/or products. Don’t take it at face value. Read reviews. Check with the better business bureau.
A “free trial” is often offered, but they ask for your credit card information. That’s a red flag. Be sure to read the fine print. Claims that a product is “natural” or “herbal” don’t mean the product is safe. You may or may not remember the flap over Ephedra. I used an Ephedra product & wound up in the hospital. There is no panacea for weight loss. It’s wisest to consult with your doctor or a dietician.
