The Ole Miss Rebels (5-5) dominated from the outset of the ballgame on Saturday against the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (4-5) thanks to a big first half from Jordan Ta’amu.
The Rebels got on the board early and often in the first quarter and started things off with a 37-yard pass from Ta’amu connecting with DaMarkus Lodge within the first 90 seconds of the ballgame.
The offensive onslaught continued with a 31-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown later in the first quarter. Ta’amu made it 21-0 before the first quarter ended with an eight yard run into the endzone that featured some solid footwork from the junior quarterback.
The Rebels continued to pour it on in the second quarter with another receiving touchdown for AJ Brown to make it 28-0. The Cajuns did get on the board though with a 31-yard touchdown run by Raymond Calais.
However, Ole Miss put the final nail before the first half wrapped up with Ta’amu finding paydirt once again, this time from one-yard out.
The Cajuns will return to Cajun Field next Saturday to take on New Mexico State (4-5, 2-3 Sun Belt) with kickoff set for 4 pm.
