The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (0-1) offense couldn’t get out of second gear on Friday night and that was a big factor in the 3-0 loss to the Texas Longhorns (1-0).
The Longhorns got of the board in the bottom of the third with David Hamilton scoring off of a groundout by Austin Todd.
Kody Clemens increased Texas’ lead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to right field. Todd put the game out of reach in the seventh with an RBI double out to left field.
Jack Burk took the loss allowing two runs off of four hits, walked three, and struck out four in four innings of work.
The Cajuns will take on Texas in the second game of the series on Saturday with first pitch set for 2:30 pm.
