5. SEC Bias Refs
I will give it up to South Carolina for a hard fought victory, but NC State got jobbed by SEC referees in that game. On Multiple occasions the Wolfpack saw balls spotted shy of where the play actually finished and calls plays were called to stand after clear video evidence showed that they should have been overturned. I am not one to blame refs, it’s a hard job, but I do not see how it is fair to have one team get their conference’s refs while the other gets no representation on the field during a non-conference game.
4. #TexasIsBack
In the history of hashtags, no hashtag has come and gone as quickly as “#TexasIsBack!” Tom Herman’s Longhorns came out looking pretty good against Maryland until they were put in their place with big play after big play. The Herman era is off to a rocky start and the only place UT is back, is in the line of Big 12 contenders.

3. LSU Freshman
17 LSU freshman football players contributed to the team’s dominant performance against BYU. This coming off the of 13 “suspensions” of veteran players for week 1. The standard is high in the Coach O era. These players, including K’Lavon Chaisson and Greedy Williams, all showed that they are ready to meet and exceed that standard.

2. Raymond Calais
Two kick returns for touchdowns in Week 1 of the season do not come by accident. The Cajuns have a true freak athlete who was not involved in the offense nearly enough.

1. “Chosen” Josh Rosen
Fake spiking when the clock is already stopped aside, Rosen lived up to the hype surrounding himself against Texas A&M, but more importantly, he gave us a classic college football game while saving his head coach’s job in the process.
