The Fave 5: Forever Rowdy!

WARNING! THIS FAVE 5 IS EXTREMELY ROWDY!

5. XFL Suggestions

All weekend as I went down the rabbit hole of #XFL on Twitter I saw a ton of fan’s chiming in with their hopes and dreams for the return of the notorious league. Some fans begged the league to bring a team to their hometowns. Some fans were in favor of eliminating halftime and easing up on defensive penalties. Then there were fans like Tommy Chong. Yes, that Tommy Chong! Chong and other fans are speaking out saying that the XFL should legalize weed. I am on board with that, but the NFL might be pretty soon as well.

4. Paid to Win

The Mickey Mouse is reporting that the NBA will pay the members of the winning team in this year’s All Star Game $100,000 each. While they dropped the ball by not televising the All Star Draft, this almost makes up for that misstep. Giving players 100,000 reasons to play some defense and try to win should go a long way in giving us the spectacle the All Star Game should be.

3. Heel vs. Heel

This year’s Super Bowl pits two of the most unlikable teams with two of the most unlikable fan bases playing for the championship of one of the increasingly more unlikable leagues. This is as if The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase main evented Wrestlemania 3 against the Honky Tonk Man. Just two total dingleberries going toe to toe for the richest prize in the sport is tough to stomach, but at least it is all almost over.

2. Champion vs. Champion

The UFC has gone all in on the super-fight in 2018. UFC 226 promises to be an epic night that is rumored to have three titles on the line. The one fight that is official is Daniel Cormier moving up to Heavyweight to fight Stipe Miocic for the his belt. The purists hate it and say the super-fight bubble is going to burst, but I don’t care. This is a dream match and a dream come true for people who love fights that rule which this most certainly will!

1. Rowdy Ronda

WWE signing Ronda Rousey to a multi-year deal is amazing in and of itself. She is blockbuster. She is box office. But she is also going into this with a purpose. While making her debut Ronda wore the legendary Roddy Piper’s leather jacket to the ring. Rousey said that Piper’s son gave her the jacket so that she could honor the original Rowdy one. Rousey has said that she aims to keep Piper’s memory alive every time she walks through the curtain since he taught her so much and bestowed the “rowdy” nickname upon her before her incredible MMA career began.
