5. All the Citizens
Deontay Wilder thanked all of the citizens for supporting Boxing after his 5th round knockout of Gerald Washington on Saturday night. It was a heartwarming message from the Heavyweight champ. Unfortunately after the fight a brawl between Wilder’s camp and heavyweight Dominic Breazeale’s camp caused everyone to forget Wilder’s message of unity and love.
4. 62%
Combing for 69 of the Pelicans 110 points against OKC on Sunday night, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis handled more than their share of the load. This is a heavy load they carry though and sometimes 69 is just not enough.
3. 3 Stages of Hell
The new 3 stage format at Daytona worked like a charm and made for an exciting race from lap one to lap 200. The points incentives for winning a stage forced many drivers to race aggressively and even though it caused Dale Jr. and others to get knocked out of the Great American Race, it gave us some quality entertainment during moments we traditionally might go relieve the ourselves of the gallons of Monster Energy Drink we consume during the Grand Marshal ceremony.
2. Mardi Gras Floats
Mardi Gras floats are the best. Boogie and the Brow will be riding in the Zulu parade. Matt Ryan and the biggest choke job in Super Bowl history is going to be immortalized. I grew up in the shadow of the Rose Bowl and the Tournament of Roses so I know the float game and Mardi Gras floats, albeit a little more crudely done, are more exciting.
1. The Dusty Finish
When you think one guy won and then after a few minutes of intense confusion and hysteria, the decision is overturned; the entire world is talking about the end of your show. I have know doubt in my mind who booked the end of the 2017 Academy Awards.
