Three LSU Tigers Picked Up During Day Two of MLB Draft

It’s been a busy Tuesday afternoon for some of the LSU Tigers that are draft-eligible with three current players getting picked during the second day of the 2019 MLB Draft.

The Baltimore Orioles opened up the day selecting LSU centerfielder Zach Watson in the third round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, going 79th overall. Watson is batting .310 with seven home runs and 41 RBI.

His slot value for being the 79th overall pick is $780,400.

It wasn’t until the seventh round that the next Tiger was taken off the board in Zack Hess. The Forest, Virginia product went 4-5 with a 4.63 ERA and two saves in 18 appearances during the 2019 season. His slot value at 202nd overall is $227,700.

11 picks later, relief pitcher Todd Peterson rounded out the day for the Tigers, getting drafted by the Washington Nationals. Peterson 5-2 with a 3.83 ERA this season in 28 appearances and recorded three saves in his junior season.

His slot value for being the 213th overall is $208,200k.
