The LSU Tigers will welcome the Oklahoma Sooners to Tiger Stadium for the first time on Saturday. The Bayou Bengals bounced back with a 24-17 win over Vanderbilt last week.
Oklahoma has shown competitiveness in their first SEC season, entering the final game with a 6-5 record. The Sooners fell just short against Tennessee earlier in the season, but their most significant victory occurred last week with a 24-3 beatdown over Alabama. Saturday’s game marks the first encounter between the two teams since the College Football Playoff semifinal in 2019.
Kickoff inside Tiger Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30th. The pregame will begin at 4:00 and the action can be heard on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette 104.1 Lake Charles.
DON’T LET ARNOLD GET HOT
Jackson Arnold is a highly touted freshman quarterback for the Sooners, but has had an up and down first season. As of late, he’s played really well down the stretch as he got more comfortable in the offense.
LSU’s defense will need to make sure that Arnold and his skill players don’t overpower the Tigers at home in the regular season finale and LSU can finish the season on a high note heading into their bowl game.
OFFENSIVE EXECUTION IS KEY
Garrett Nussmeier and the LSU offense has felt stagnant since falling to Texas A&M at the end of October. Caden Durham has been a bright spot in the offense, but the Tigers have relied so much on the passing game during the 2024 season that the ground game has struggled.
With tons of young pieces in the offense, the future is very bright. However, they will face a tough Oklahoma defense led by Danny Stutsman that will look to put pressure on the quarterback.
SEND THE SENIORS OUT
It is senior night in Tiger Stadium as LSU will honor 21 seniors in their football program for their final home game. The seniors chose their uniform combo for the game as they will wear white helmets, purple jerseys, and white pants.
The Tigers will look to send their seniors out the right way with a strong performance against the Sooners to finish the season with eight wins, which is obviously a step back from winning 10 games in the previous two seasons under Kelly.
