The US Consumer Products Safety Commission reports about 200 people make emergency room visits every day during the 4th of July holiday. The most common injuries are to the hands and face. Fireworks are explosives and are dangerous.
Officials urge you to have a fire extinguisher or water handy. Don’t try to relight a dud. Keep children at a safe distance. Don’t light fireworks if you’ve had a lot to drink. After your fireworks are spent, douse them with water. These precautions will help you have a happy and safe Fourth of July.
