The New Orleans Pelicans only had one pick in the 2018 NBA Draft on Thursday night and made the most of it, picking up Tony Carr out of Penn State with the 51st pick.
Carr, a native of Philadelphia, averaged 19.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game during the 2017-18 season for the Nittany Lions. He was an All-Big Ten selection after the regular season wrapped up and helped his team win the NIT Tournament for the second time in school history.
He’ll join a fairly crowded locker room when it comes to guards with Jrue Holiday, E’Twaun Moore, and Frank Jackson being currently under contract and Rajon Rondo set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
