Tony Robichaux stays with the Cajuns for five more years

The Ragin Cajuns Baseball squad will have Head Coach Tony Robichaux back for five more years.

This new contract will run through June of 2020. The contract is set to pay Robichaux $125,580 a year with a $60,000 signing bonus.

The contract also has several incentives for the Cajuns doing well both on and off the field. Robichaux will be getting paid $10,000 for a Sun Belt Conference regular season or tournament title, $15,000 for an appearance in the Super Regional, $20,000 for a trip to Omaha for the College World Series, and $25,000 for a National Championship.  Robichaux can also earn $3,000 dollars for earning Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, $4,000 for Louisiana Coach of the Year, $5,000 for South Regional Coach of the Year and $10,000 for National Coach of the Year.

If the average paid attendance for home games at the Tigue equal or exceed 2,500, the Cajuns head coach will recieve a $2,500 bonus. Off the field incentives include if the team has a 3.0 GPA or an APR score of 930 or better there will be a $2,000 compensation.

The University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors has approved the contract, and is expected to be signed in the coming days according to sources. The University will issue the press release after everything is finalized.

Coach Robichaux and the Cajuns are coming off a 42 win season and a second straight trip to the Super Regionals.
