Lafayette Christian Academy has been added to the list of local teams looking for a new football coach.

Trev Faulk turned in his letter of resignation Monday and his informed his team during a meeting Tuesday, according to reports. This news comes days after LCA fell to St Thomas More in dramatic fashion 52-48 in the Select Division II State Championship game.

However, the decision to not return was made before the beginning of the 2022 season.

Faulk was with the Knights for seven seasons, with only serving two seasons as head coach. In that time frame, the Knights appeared in six consecutive state championship games, winning four state titles.

“After much thought and prayer, Coach Trev Faulk resigned yesterday, December 12th, as head coach of Lafayette Christian Academy Football,” Jay Martin, the school’s pastor, said. “For a few years, Coach Faulk has been preparing to explore opportunities that he feels he needs to pursue now.”

Faulk has been heavily involved in the game of football, plating at every level before coaching at Vermilion Catholic, Northside, and Lafayette Christian.
