The Ragin Cajuns ended their weekend in Houston on a positive note on Sunday night with a 4-2 win over the Rice Owls (3-5).
Joe Robbins got things going for the Cajuns in the top of the first with another leadoff extra base hit that was followed by a sac bunt to get him to third and Stefan Trosclair got him home with a groundball to second base to put them up 1-0.
The Rice Owls responded with a pair of RBI doubles in the bottom of the second by Wunderlich and Staab respectively to go up 2-1.
Joe Robbins tied it up in the top of the fifth with a single up the middle to score Brian Mills.
But it was Stefan Trosclair, who headed into today’s game with only three hits, blasted one that landed in the Crawford Boxes at Minute Maid to put the Cajuns up for good.
Freshman Nick Lee recorded his first collegiate win allowing two runs off of four hits, walked two, and struck out five in seven innings of work. Jevin Huval recorded his first save with two shutout innings and striking out one batter.
The Cajuns (4-3) will return to the Tigue on Tuesday night to take on UNO (6-1) with first pitch set for 6 pm.
