Shortly after Alex Lange opened the 2017 season with five shutout innings in LSU’s 9-0 win over Army, teammate Jared Poché improved on that performance. Poché threw LSU’s first no-hitter since 1979 as the Tigers completed the sweep of the doubleheader with a 6-0 win in the night cap.
Offense and defense was provided courtesy of shortstop Kramer Robertson. His two-run triple in the fifth inning was more than enough, but his numerous defensive plays kept the no-hitter intact.
The Tigers will go for the weekend sweep of the service academies when they host Air Force, Sunday afternoon at 1p. The pre-game show begins at 12:30p on 103.7 The Game.
