According to multiple reports, Will Wade is set to take the head coaching job at North Carolina State.
Wade has gone 57-10 in two years at McNeese, guiding the Cowboys to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.
The Cowboys won both the Southland Conference regular season and tournament championships in both years that Wade was at the helm. Most recently, they cut down the nets in the Legacy Center last week, booking another ticket to the Big Dance.
NC State made a Final Four appearance as a dark horse last season, led by big man DJ Burns. Still, it was a disappointing follow up to that season, and Kevin Keatts was let go as a result.
The Cowboys are currently in Providence, Rhode Island for the NCAA Tournament. They will take on Clemson in the First Round on Thursday, March 20th at 2:15 PM central. Wade is expected to remain head coach through the end of McNeese’s tournament run.
