It was back to a normal schedule for high school football in the Acadiana area.
One week after some games were being moved to Thursday, teams returned to the Friday night lights as the regular season draws closer to an end.
Sam Houston spoiled the Lafayette Might Lions’ Friday night by going on the road and coming away with a 39-29 win. Lafayette High now enters their final regular season game on a four-game losing streak after the loss to Sam Houston. The Mighty Lions concluded their season with a game against Acadiana High.
St. Thomas More is now 7-2 on the year after snapping the Carencro Golden Bears’ seven-game winning streak. They beat Carencro 36-20. The Cougars end their regular season with a Senior Night home game against North Vermilion. Carencro now has an 7-2 overall record.
The Kaplan Pirates were home against the Abbeville Wildcats for The Vermilion Parish Game of the Week. The Pirates eased their way to a 41-8 win over the Wildcats. Kaplan improves to 5-4 on the season. The final Vermilion Parish Game of the Week will feature Erath vs Abbeville.
The Comeaux High Spartans drop the Southside Sharks to 5-4 after they got the home win. The Spartans took care of business with a final score of 60-28. Southside ends their regular season with a home game against New Iberia.

Teurlings Catholic squeezed out a 20-16 road win over the St. Martinville Tigers.
