WHAT UP WHIT THAT? – A Football Free Edition with Cody Chustz
— AFTER LOSING GAME 1, THE CUBS ARE REPORTING THAT THEY HAVE NOT RULED OUT THE POSSIBILITY OF KYLE SCHWARBER PLAYING LF WHEN THE WORLD SERIES HEADS TO WRIGLEY FIELD IN CHICAGO… SCHWARBER WAS ASKED ABOUT THAT POSSIBILITY DIRECTLY AND HIS RESPONSE WAS A SHORT AND SWEET…. ‘NO’… THE TEAM SAYS THERE IS A CHANCE, WHILE SCHWARBER SAYS THERE ISN’T… SEEMS TO BE SOME CROSSED WIRES BETWEEN KYLE AND THE CUBS; AND AT A MOST CRUCIAL TIME…. WHAT UP WHIT THAT???
- Despite Schwarber’s big double in game 1, which was only feet from leaving the yard, I can’t see the Cubs deciding that the best decision would be to have Kyle Schwarber play defense of any kind. Even when the Cubs slugger plays at 100% he is still a liability in his corner outfield position. Schwarber’s bat seems to be at game speed and I believe he will be more than just serviceable at the plate through the rest of the series. However, forcing him into the lineup when the series moves to Chicago very well could be the downfall of the Cubs this post-season. Keeping Schwarber on the bench as a late game pinch hit option, in my opinion, would be the best roll for him to play once DH is no longer an option. It’s the World Series and runs are at a premium. Schwarber’s questionable defense could end up spotting the Indians an extra run, or more, which may be all it takes to cost the Cubbies their first World Series title since 1908. And that’s…. — KEVIN DURANT MADE HIS DEBUT WITH THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS LAST NIGHT AND IT WENT ABOUT AS GOOD AS ‘THE SHOCKMASTER’S’ DEBUT IN WWE…. THE WARRIORS GOT SKULL DRUG 129-100 AT ORACLE BY THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS…. DURANT WAS A BRIGHT SPOT ON THE OFFENSIVE END FOR GOLDEN STATE WITH 27 POINTS AND 10 REBOUNDS, BUT THE TEAM WAS PAPER THIN ON DEFENSE ALL GAME…. THE WARRIORS LOSING TO THE SPURS ISN’T SO MUCH OF A SURPRISE, BUT LOSING BY 29 POINTS AT HOME…. WHAT UP WHIT THAT????
- I can’t honestly say that I was on the ‘Warriors are going to win 75 games’ bandwagon, but the addition of Kevin Durant to GSW did have me thinking we would see Steph, Clay, Draymond, and KD in the NBA Finals this season. Obviously, this one loss has no bearing on where the Warriors will ultimately finish at season’s end. It does however, confirm that KD and his new teammates will need more real game time experience together; before they start firing on all cylinders. I firmly hold that Golden State will finish on top of the Western Conference again this year; just don’t look for their win loss record to reach the same peak it did last season. This opening game loss for the Warriors can easily be flushed and forgotten about; the Spurs will not want to do that though. Beating the reigning conference champs, in their house, on opening night, by 29 points is something the Spurs can use as a measuring stick as the season progresses. Yes, the Warriors will get better; so will the Spurs. The Spurs we saw on the court last night were nowhere near playing at the top of their game. Once the Spurs and Warriors have reached their full potential this season, you can bet we will not be seeing anymore of these embarrassing blowouts. These 2 teams will face off in an epic battle for supremacy in the NBA’s Western Conference; regardless of the opening night decimation suffered by the Golden State Warriors. And that’s…. WHAT UP WHIT THAT!
— SO, ABOUT LAST NIGHT…. THE CAVALIERS STARTED THEIR NBA TITLE DEFENSE CAMPAIGN SHORTLY AFTER RAISING THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER, AND RECEIVING THEIR RINGS…. ADD TO THAT THE INDIANS OPENING UP GAME 1 OF THE WORLD SERIES AT HOME, AND CLEVELAND…. YES CLEVELAND… WAS THE MECCA OF THE SPORTS WORLD LAST NIGHT…. CLEVE—-LAND…. MECCA…. OF…. THE…. SPORTS…. WORLD…. WHAT UP WHIT THAT????
- A site that I thought would never be seen by the likes of man occurred last night on October 25, 2016. It is with much pain and remorse that I have to admit Cleveland was the place to be last night. I feel gross just typing that out; how have we spiraled this far out of control? What went down in Cleveland last night can best be summed up by one of the oldest cliches in the book. Every dog has his day, and Cleveland you dog, yesterday was your day. Thank goodness Cleveland is also home to the NFL’s Browns and their ‘Factory of Sadness’. Had it not been for that simple fact the world as we know it would have ended; most likely. And that’s….
