The New Orleans Pelicans headed into the 2019-20 season with a lot of hope. However, that has all changed with Zion Williamson missing a significant amount of time after suffering an injury against the San Antonio Spurs on October 13th.
The rookie out of Duke underwent successful arthroscopic surgery today to address a torn right lateral meniscus. The routine debridement was performed by Dr. Jason Folk with assistance from Team Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Misty Suri.
The timetable for his full return to play is estimated at six to eight weeks.
The Pelicans will open up the season on Tuesday when they take on the Toronto Raptors with tipoff set for 7 pm.
