Zion Williamson will not compete in 2021 NBA Slam Dunk Contest

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson will not compete in the 2021 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, according to Yahoo Sports.

Williamson was named an All-Star reserve in February. This will be his first All-Star appearance after being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons, New York Knicks rookie Obi Toppin and Indiana Pacers rookie Cassius Stanley will compete in this year’s slam dunk contest.

The participants for the NBA Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest were announced.

Skills Challenge Participants: Robert Covington, Luka Doncic, Nikola Vucevic, Domanta Sabonis, Julius Randle and Chris Paul.

The NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
