Each summer, college prospects and high school players from all over the world work for the opportunity to be selected in the MLB Draft.
LSU received some big news earlier today when local product William Schmidt, a top 20 prospect, told teams not to draft him and that he would be enrolling with the Tigers.
Here are the selections involving the LSU Tigers:
1.9- Pittsburgh Pirates select Konnor Griffin, SS, Jackson Prep (MS)
1.24-Atlanta Braves select Cam Caminiti-LHP, Saguaro HS (AZ)
2.40-Oakland Athletics select Tommy White, 3B
One of the legends of LSU baseball after the 2023 title run will look to become the face of the franchise in Oakland (soon to be Las Vegas).
2.52-San Diego Padres select Boston Bateman, LHP, Adolfo Camarillo HS, Camarillo, CA
2.72-Cincinnati Reds select Luke Holman, RHP
Holman will join fellow LSU pitcher Ty Floyd in the Reds organization along with #2 overall pick Chase Burns from Wake Forest.
2.73-Oakland Athletics select Gage Jump, LHP
Jump once again teams up with Tommy White as two LSU pitchers go in the second round.
3.89-New York Yankees select Thatcher Hurd, LHP
5.151-San Diego Padres select Kale Fountain, 3B, Norris HS
6.181-New York Yankees select Griffin Herring, LHP
7.198-Colorado Rockies select Fidel Ulloa, LHP
8.239-Cincinnati Reds select Luke Hayden, P, Indiana St (LSU transfer)
10.287-Kansas City Royals select Nate Ackenhausen, P
11.333-Seattle Mariners select Christian Little, P
