Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: Cajuns Toughest Challenge of the Stretch
The UT Arlington Mavericks were the toughest challenge for the Cajuns in this five-game home stand and six game win streak. Even without Kevin Hervey, the Mavs were able to make it a competitive game, proving why they are one of the better teams in the conference. But the Cajuns came out of the half ready to go and started to put a considerable gap between themselves and the Mavs to come away with a big win.
2nd Half: Shawn Long Dominates Yet Again
If it feels like every time you read #3OT, I talk about Shawn Long a lot, it’s because I do. But it’s because he justifies being talked about every time he plays a game. The Saturday afternoon game was another prime example of why he’s an amazing player to watch. Just look at his stats from Saturday: 25 points, 15 boards, six blocks, one assist, and one steal. The senior has shown that experience and talent can be a powerful combination.
3rd OT: Looking Ahead: UL Monroe
The Cajuns have a chance at some redemption on Tuesday night with a matchup against UL Monroe. The Warhawks were the Cajuns first conference opponent back in December and ULM handily defeated the Cajuns on the road. This is not the same team from December, only losing two games in January. Winning on Tuesday would make it seven straight wins and the season doesn’t get any easier with a game in Boone just two days later. Combine that with two games against Arkansas State and UALR the next week, the Cajuns will need momentum on their side.
