Welcome everyone to the latest #3OT where I break down what went right and what went wrong for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns! In this edition, I look at the Cajuns 85-82 loss to Georgia State.
1st OT: Strong Finish
At the end of the first half, it seemed like the Cajuns would get outclassed again on Saturday afternoon by Georgia State. However, the Cajuns were able to get it back down to double digits in the final minutes. If not for an ill-timed foul, the Cajuns had a puncher’s chance of coming away with a big win over one of the best in the conference. After several games that saw the Cajuns take the foot off the gas in the second half, it was pretty refreshing to see.
2nd OT: Bartley’s Big Night
Whatever Bob Marlin said to Frank Bartley last week seems to have worked and is paying off in a big way as he had another great game with 31 points, 21 of those from beyond the arc. He also had six boards and four assists on the night. He really was key player to keep it competitive in the final minutes.
3rd OT: Make Free Throws When It Counts
One thing the Cajuns know how to do is make free throws. However, the second half really saw them only make six of nine from the charity stripe. They had a pretty good night overall, but it felt like they didn’t have quite enough attempts in the second half to get them over the edge. If not for those three misses, we could be talking about a very different outcome.
