Welcome everyone to the latest edition of #3OT where I break down what went right and what went wrong for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns! In this edition, I look at the Cajuns 100-88 loss to Troy.
1st OT: Foul Trouble
When it comes to the Cajuns in the second half, the biggest reason for the Trojans second half rally was because of the amount of fouls that the Cajuns committed in the second half. They had a total of 33 fouls committed by the Cajuns, two of which were technical for coach Bob Marlin midway through the second half. This led to a ton of shots from the charity stripe and helped get Troy a much needed win over the Cajuns.
2nd OT: Strong End to First Half
While the second half was one the Cajuns would like to forget, the final moments of the first half saw the Cajuns fight back in the final minutes and cut the score down to three points at the half after being down by double digits. All the momentum was in favor of them and it showed with how the second half started.
3rd OT: Wright Able to Make It Competitive
While the Cajuns were trying to comeback from the grave in the final moments, Jay Wright was that driving force in their final attempt to get back in the game. He ended up with 26 points, four boards, four assists, one block, and one steal before fouling out. He really was all over the place and is really trying to push this team past this losing streak and finish the season on a positive note. If there was one other player that could have had a similar game to Wright, there’s a chance that they can come away with a win.
