Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: Simmons Snaps Out of Funk In 2nd Half
Ben Simmons was the exact opposite of himself in the first half. The freshman star was an pitiful 1-for-5 from the field and had three turnovers, the only positive part of his game was having 11 boards in the first half. But he snapped out of it when the Tigers needed him to. Simmons went 4-for-8 from the field and 4-6 from the charity stripe. Perhaps if Simmons hadn’t been in the funk he was in during the first half, perhaps LSU wouldn’t have had a thrilling finish.
2nd OT: Craig Victor Surprising Hero
Craig Victor since his arrival for LSU has proven to be one of the missing cogs in the machine that makes this team perform to the level that they need to. And this game is something that backs up that theory. Much like Simmons, he had an awful first half, but bounced back in the second half to help get the Tigers their second straight win in a crucial conference game.
3rd OT: Looking Ahead
This Tuesday night in College Station is a big game for both LSU and Texas A&M. The Aggies are currently in first place in the conference with the Tigers right behind them. If the Aggies lose, then LSU will be at the top of the division. But if Texas A&M wins, then LSU drops down to third place and has their seventh loss of the season. There’s a lot on the line for both teams this early in conference play, so the Tigers will have to be on their “A” game.
