Welcome everyone to a special National Signing Day edition of #4Downs!
1st Down: Best Recruiting Class for LSU?
It’s not the best ever, but it’s definitely one of the best in recent years. Especially if you look at how complete this recruiting class is. You’ve got the quarterback, maybe not the main target for this team but got a solid QB in Lindsey Scott, and a fresh batch of defensive backs that could bring the self-proclaimed DBU to new heights. Really looking forward to see who in this freshman class can make an impact right away. Speaking of which…
2nd Down: Who Could Make the Most Immediate Impact? Part I
Looking at the offensive side of the ball for the Tigers, it looks like quite a few of these players could see some playing time. But the position where the odds are quite high that they will start is on the offensive line. Willie Allen and Jakori Savage are two players who look to be guys that could make an immediate impact as freshmen. Allen out of John Curtis just looks like an offensive lineman. 6”7’ and 300 pounds is a great get for this team. He’s just a grown man that will be able to protect his quarterback. Savage lives up to his name also clocking in at 300 pounds. Just those two guys alone could see some playing time in 2016 just because of their size.
3rd Down: Who Could Make the Most Immediate Impact? Part II
Looking at the defensive side of the ball, there are two guys that LSU fans will need to watch out for: Kristian Fulton and Michael Divinity. Divinity can just bring it, getting straight at the QB and forcing the pressure. He is someone who could be playing straight out of the gate. Fulton is somebody Tigers fans will have to keep an eye on. His speed on the field is phenomenal and doesn’t stop until the whistle is called. That is what you want to see with any player.
4th Down: Keeping It Local
LSU has been criticized for not getting the big time recruits in-state. This year, you cannot complain about that. Nine out of the top ten players in Louisiana are all committed to the Tigers. Dave Aranda is going to have a lot of fun with his new toys and Cam Cameron will be trying to develop another QB, and will have enough time to get him ready for primetime unlike with Brandon Harris. If you’re an LSU fan and you weren’t already hyped about this team, you should be now.
