LSU Dominates Mizzou 15-2

Posted by clintdomingue on April 17, 2016 in Latest News

The LSU Tigers wasted no effort on Sunday afternoon, taking Mizzou (20-18) to the woodshed with a 15-2 thrashing.

LSU got things going early on with five runs in the top of the first thanks to a pair of errors early on.

Mizzou’s Sharp grounded into a double play, but that allowed Harris to score in the bottom of the second to make it 5-1 after two complete.

Bryce Jordan pushed two across in the fifth off an RBI single. Bond sent one over the left field wall in the bottom of the fifth to make it 7-2.

LSU busted things open in the top of the 7th with three home runs from Jordan Romero, Greg Deichmann, and Bryce Jordan. Two more runs would score later in the inning thanks to Antoine Duplantis and Jake Fraley.

Romero helped put the game away in the top of the ninth with a two run single.

John Valek improved to 6-1 allowing two runs off of five hits and struck out five in six inning of work.

LSU (25-11, 9-6 SEC) will have a midweek matchup on Wednesday against Southeastern Louisiana with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
