#TriplePlay: LSU vs Mississippi State

Posted by clintdomingue on April 25, 2016 in Featured

#TriplePlay LSU

Welcome everyone to another edition of #TriplePlay!

Turn One: Costly Mistakes Hurting LSU

The LSU Tigers have been having issues as of late in terms of fielding. In the last 10 games, LSU has had nine errors, four of which came during the Grambling game. And in most of the games where the Tigers had errors, they lost. The most telling part of it all is that during the series against Mizzou, LSU did not commit a single error. That was the only series in SEC play that the Tigers swept. The fielding issue need to be cleaned up and quick.

Turn Two: Poor Pitching Can’t Help Tiger Bats

I think I’m sounding like a broken record at this point. Almost every week during SEC play, I’ve complained about the LSU pitching and lauded their offensive prowess with a completely different lineup. But the pitching is another factor in costing the Tigers games. During this weekend series, the Tigers offense surged for 31 hits and hit for a .321 batting average. When you look at the pitching it’s the exact opposite as the Tigers have some of the key parts back from last year’s Omaha team. But they are slipping up in that department, most notably Alex Lange. He’s a guy that was automatic in his freshman campaign and now has lost three of his last four starts.

Turn Three: Crucial Week Ahead

LSU has a pair of tough contests in the next week with 20th ranked Tulane on Tuesday and then head over to Oxford to take on 9th ranked Ole Miss in a top-10 battle. LSU will be looking for redemption on Tuesday after being embarrassed back on March 29th by the Green Wave inside Alex Box Stadium. Ole Miss is in the middle of a five game win streak and have won seven of their last ten games, so this will be a big weekend for LSU as we get closer and closer to the end of the season.
