LSU Falls to Tulane 4-1

Posted by clintdomingue on April 26, 2016 in Latest News

The LSU Tigers headed to New Orleans for potential redemption on Tuesday night. But Tulane (27-13) was able to complete the regular season sweep against the Tigers for the first time since 2007 behind another solid performance from J.P. France to win by the score of 4-1.

The Green Wave got things going in the bottom of the second when Hunter Williams grounded out to shortstop, which allowed Kaplan to scamper across home plate.

The Wave kept rolling in the bottom of the fifth when Montalbano hit a single to left field to get another run across. Later in the inning, Kaplan hit one that was playable and seemed like a third out was coming, but Greg Deichmann wasn’t able to field the ball which led to another run to come across.

Tulane put the game away with a solo shot from Jake Willsey to make it 4-0. THe sole run for the Tigers came off of a balk.

Doug Norman dropped to 1-1 allowing one run off of three hits, walking two and struck out one batter in three and two-thirds innings of work.

The Tigers (27-14) have a day of rest before heading to Ole Miss (31-11) with first pitch on Thursday set for 6 pm.
