No Flips. Just Fists.

poirier greenUFC 199 is this Saturday and it’s a fabulous card emanating from the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles. Unfortunately Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman 2 will not be taking place but we will be getting a quality fan favorite in Michael Bisping in Weidman’s place. Rockhold is a big time favorite and rightfully so, but the recent revelation that he went through camp with an MCL tear has made this fight a whole lot more interesting. Also, Rockhold is still making comments about Weidman and maybe lacking the focus and/or is too cocky going into a fight with a guy who just beat the greatest fighter of all time, Anderson Silva. Rockhold said Weidman would’ve probably been an easier fight for him than Bisping will be. Putting a magnified glass on that comment might lead you to believe Rockhold is already preparing excuses in case Bisping shocks the world.

UFC 199 also features local badass Dustin Poirier taking on the crazy athletic Bobby Green. When they use the word “warrior” when talking about fighters, Poirier is the type of guy they are talking about because Poirier goes into the octagon ready to bleed all of the blood and sweat all of the sweat. If he is on the card, Poirier is always a contender for “fight of the night.” I am expecting a vicious knockout or tap-a-roo of Bobby Green, who has been labeled a lazy fighter at times.

Check out the full card below and enjoy all of the fighting on Saturday night! The UFC keeps getting sidetracked by injuries but these last few cards have been amazing and this Saturday in L.A. could wind up being the best of the year. Last weekend all of the talk in the Combat Sports world was about the sensational flippy match between Will Osprey and Richochet in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “Best of the Super Juniors Tournament” (which you can watch below). This weekend all of the talk will be a little different though. No flips. Just fists.
