Fight Week HYPE: Cormier vs. Jones II – It’s Time!

Posted by alanmichael on July 5, 2016 in Featured

***UPDATE: Jones is out of UFC 200 and should be banned from the sport forever for trying to ruin the biggest MMA card in history!***

I will give my UFC 200 predictions this Friday live on the air, but to celebrate International Fight Week on this space I will re-post the UFC’s sicky-rad promotional videos for each of the big fights this Saturday in Vegas. First up will be the main event! Cormier vs. Jones 2!

Jones does not respect Cormier. Cormier does not like Jones as a person but respects him as a fighter. Jones is the only man on Earth who has defeated Cormier. This fight is everything you would ever need in terms of a bonafide main event. Cormier is playing the role of the “Avenger” getting back on his horse after the soul crushing defeat last year. Jones is playing the dual role of the icon looking to cement his legacy and the screw-up looking to redeem himself. Jon Jones didn’t look too hot against Ovince St. Preaux but he wiped the floor with OSP nonetheless. Is Jones still the definitive best pound for pound fighter under God’s hot sun? This is what Bones is out to prove Saturday nite in Vegas.

Jones comes into the fight seemingly annoyed that everyone wants Cormier and him to go down as the UFC version of Ali and Frazier. Jones just wants to get over this feud and move onto his next conquest while Cormier is desperate for a win. Cormier needs to win to regain his legendary status in the sport. Cormier needs a win to prove that he is Jones’ contemporary and greatest rival. Gold! Pride! Legacy! EVERYTHING is on the line for both men!

If you don’t comprehend just how huge this fight is, then here is a little HYPE narrated by culinary icon, vagabond, and real life American badass Anthony Bourdain. Enjoy!
