At the end of the first half, it seemed like Mizzou (5-8, 0-1 SEC) could be opening up conference play with a win on Wednesday night. However, LSU (9-4, 1-1 SEC) was able to make some adjustments and that would lead to an 88-77 win on the road.

LSU would start out strong, getting out to as much as a 13-6 lead with 16:03 left in the first half. Mizzou would fight back with a 15-2 run over almost six minutes to take control of the ballgame. They would continue hold the lead the rest of the half, but LSU kept within five points at the half to keep it competitive.

Mizzou would hang on to the lead by a thread for much of the second half until LSU went on a 15-4 run with 7:53 remaining in regulation. LSU would hold onto the lead the rest of the way, getting their first double digit win on the road in SEC play since Auburn last year.

The Tigers will have a few days off before they return to the PMAC to take on Mississippi State (9-4, 0-1 SEC) with tip off set for 2:30 pm.

By the Numbers:

38: Field goal percentage for Mizzou in the second half. Mizzou had shot 46 percent from the field in the first half and that was one of the major reasons for their loss to LSU. Also, Mizzou only made one three pointer in 13 attempts.

24: Number of points Antonio Blakeney had for LSU in the win. He led the team in points and ended his day with six boards and an assist.

26: Number of points coming from the bench. Jalyn Patterson led the bench with 11 points on the night and had four rebounds and three assists.
