Based off of Wednesday night, it looks like there’s not much difference between the LSU Tigers basketball team (9-6, 1-3 SEC) from the end of last season to this season. They were completely outplayed by Texas A&M (9-6, 1-2 SEC) in a 92-62 loss.

The Aggies wasted no time getting out to a big lead, going up as much as 16 points with 10:30 remaining in the first half. However, LSU was able to get closer late in the first half, getting as close as five points. That wouldn’t last long as the Aggies got the lead back to double digits thanks to the Tigers getting cold in the final minutes and headed into the locker room with a 43-27 lead.

Texas A&M’s dominance continued in the second half, getting out to a 27 point lead within the first five minutes. The Aggies just controlled the game for the remaining 15 minutes before getting their first win in conference play.

LSU will try and get off the schneid on Saturday when they take on the Alabama Crimson Tide (9-6, 2-1 SEC) with tipoff set for 2:30 pm.

By the Numbers:

12: Number of turnover committed by LSU in the loss. The Aggies were able to capitalize on nearly every opportunity, getting 21 points off of turnovers.

11: Number of blocks that Texas A&M had in their winning effort. LSU couldn’t get their hands near the ball getting zero blocks.

17: Number of points Antonio Blakeney had for the Tigers. He led the team and was the only player able to get to double digits on the night for LSU.
