For the first time in a while, it seemed like the LSU Tigers (9-7, 1-4 SEC) were going to turn things around and come away with a win on Saturday afternoon. However, it was same old Tigers in the closing minutes that led to an 81-66 loss to Alabama (10-6, 2-2 SEC).

After an early exchange of the lead, LSU was able to go 12-7 with 14 minutes left in the first half. The Crimson Tide kept it very competitive throughout the rest of the first half keeping within four points. LSU would keep themselves ahead of Alabama and headed into the locker room with a 33-28 lead.

The second half began much like the first as they exchanged the lead multiple times and the Tigers had a 48-46 lead with 10:07 left. However, the tide would figuratively turn in favor of Alabama with a 22-10 run over the final 3:51 to come away with a double digit victory inside the PMAC.

The Tigers will try and avoid four straight losses when they take on Auburn (11-5, 1-3 SEC) on Wednesday with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 pm.

By the Numbers:

34: Number of points in the paint for LSU in the loss. It looked to be a point of emphasis that the Tigers would try and attack the paint and it worked to great success throughout the game.

15: Number of offensive rebounds that Alabama had in the game. They held a slight margin when it comes to the overall number of boards, but the offensive side of the ball was where they controlled it and it would lead to 13 second chance points.

25: Number of points that Alabama scored off of LSU’s turnovers. For the second straight game, LSU allowed more than 15 points off of turnovers.
