The LSU Tigers (9-11) looked somewhat better on Saturday afternoon, but the end result was much of the same as they lost to Texas Tech (15-6) 77-64.

It wasn’t a good start for LSU as the Red Raiders came out of the gates strong with an 11-2 lead with 17:51 left in the first half. LSU was able to get it back within five points, but Texas Tech was too good from beyond the arc in the first half and was able to head into the locker room with a 39-27 lead.

The Red Raiders started out strong in the second half with a 16 point lead with 14 minutes left in regulation. They were able to get up by 20, but the Tigers were able to make it competitive towards the end.

LSU will return to the PMAC on Wednesday when they take on South Carolina (16-4, 6-1 SEC) with tipoff set for 8 pm.

By the Numbers:

83: Texas Tech’s three-point shooting percentage in the first half. This was a big factor in how they were able to take such a big lead at the half over LSU. They did get cold though in the second only making two from beyond.

13: Number of points off of turnovers by LSU. The defensive effort was better than what it was on Wednesday, but it still wasn’t enough.

23: Number of points that Antonio Blakeney had in the loss. He ended his night with five boards and two assists on the night.
