Make it nine losses in a row for the LSU Tigers (9-13, 1-9 SEC) as Texas A&M (12-10, 4-6 SEC) came away with an 85-73 win.

The Tigers actually started things off on the good foot getting out to an 11-4 lead with 14:32 left in the first half. However, this wouldn’t last long as the Aggies would take the lead thanks to an 11-6 run and had a small lead at the halfway mark. Texas A&M would continue to control the game as they headed into the locker room with a 34-25 lead.

The Aggies would start out strong in the second half, getting out to a double-digit lead with 17:48 left in regulation. It would stay a double digit lead the rest of the way despite the Tigers attempts to make it close late.

LSU will try to avoid a 10th straight loss when they take on Kentucky (18-5, 8-2 SEC) with tipoff set for 6 pm.

By the Numbers:

17: Number of points for Texas A&M off of LSU’s 17 turnovers. While that seems uninteresting at first glance, but compared to what LSU did with the eight turnovers the Aggies committed, they dominated this statistic.

21: Number of points for Brandon Sampson. He led the Tigers in points and ended up with one rebound and two assists on the night.

44: LSU’s three-point shooting percentage. It’s not often the Tigers have a good aspect of their offense, but shooting 44 percent from beyond the arc is pretty refreshing.
