Make it another one sided loss for the LSU Tigers (9-17, 1-13 SEC) as they were dominated pretty much from the start as they fell to Alabama (16-10, 9-5 SEC) by the score of 90-72.
It didn’t take long for Alabama to take control as they made it 10-5 within the first five minutes of the game. The Crimson Tide kept rolling throughout the second half and headed into the locker room at halftime with a 51-32 lead.
The second half started out all Alabama as they were able to get out to a 67-41 lead with 13:07 left in regulation. The Tigers would hang around for the remainder of the game getting as close as 18 points before the clock struck triple zeros and their 13th loss of the season would end much like the other games they’ve had.
The Tigers will return to action on Wednesday in the PMAC when they take on the Tennessee Volunteers (15-12, 7-7 SEC) with tipoff set for 6 pm.
By the Numbers:
28: Number of points for Antonio Blakeney. At one point, the sophomore was a perfect 8-for-8 from field and ended up 9-of-14.
7: Number of players that ended up with a bucket for LSU. Only two of those players did not attempt a bucket and the remaining players that didn’t make a shot went a combined 0-for-8. If not for those players, the Tigers field goal percentage would go up to 56 percent.
21: Number of points off of turnovers for Alabama. The Tigers made numerous mistakes throughout the game on Saturday and when they did the Tide made the most of those mistakes.
