The Ragin’ Cajuns spotted the Southern Miss Golden Eagles three runs in the first inning before scoring the next five runs and holding on for a 5-4 win. Izzy Edwards scored three times and Todd Lott knocked in a pair of runs for the Cajuns third straight win.
After a rough first inning, Cajuns starter Nick Lee held the Golden Eagles scoreless over the next four innings, allowing the Cajuns time to comeback.
The Cajuns bullpen was solid with Jevin Huval throwing three shutout innings with five strikeouts and Dylan Moore throwing a 1-2-3 ninth for his fourth save of the season. It was also Moore’s 31st career save, tying the Sun Belt Conference all-time mark.
Louisiana looks for the sweep on Sunday with Evan Guillory on the mound. First pitch 1pm.
