The end of the regular season for the LSU Tigers (10-20, 2-16 SEC) ended much like any other game during the regular season with a loss to Mississippi State (6-12, 15-15 SEC).
LSU started out strong, but would quickly lose control with the Bulldogs getting out to a 12-5 lead with 14:14 left in the first half. It would be all Mississippi State the rest of the first half and headed into the locker room with an 18 point lead.
The Tigers started out looking good in the second half bringing their deficit down to 12 points with 17:07 left in the ballgame. This start would keep LSU in range of a comeback, but it would never materialize as the Bulldogs pulled away late in the game to take down the Tigers 76-68.
The Tigers and the Bulldogs will meet up one more time in the first round of the SEC Tournament with tipoff set for 6 pm.
