Jared Poche has had a magical season so far, not allowing a single run in each of his first three games.
The senior pitcher for LSU (11-4) continued to do just that as he would lead the Tigers to a 12-5 victory over Wichita State (8-5) on Saturday.
LSU got on the board in the bottom of the third with a sac fly from Jake Slaughter that was followed up by an RBI single from Zach Watson.
The pair of freshman weren’t done though as Slaughter would get another run home with a single in the bottom of the fifth. Later in the inning, Watson sent one out to the bleachers in right field to score three more runs, making it 6-0.
The Tigers really began to pour it on in the sixth inning though when Michael Papierski led off with a solo shot to right field. Later in the inning Greg Deichmann went oppo and sent one to left center field for his seventh home run of the season and second in the series to make it 10-0.
The final nail would be put in by a pair of RBI singles by Kramer Robertson and Beau Jordan.
Poche improved to 4-0 with seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and striking out three.
LSU will look to sweep the series on Sunday with first pitch set for 2 pm.
