The LSU Tigers (12-4) got a big game out of sophomore Antoine Duplantis on Sunday as they completed the sweep against Wichita State (8-6) with a 9-2 victory.

Duplantis got the Tigers on the board in the bottom of the first with a two run single to right field to take an early advantage. Chris Reid’s first start of the season started off well with an RBI single later in the first inning that went to the pitcher, making it 3-0.

LSU’s lead extended in the third inning with RBI double from freshman Jake Slaughter. He followed that up by scoring after a throwing error by the Shockers shortstop.

Duplantis struck gold again in the fourth with a two run single, this time to right center field to make it 7-0.

The final nails would be put in during the fifth inning when Reid scored off a wild pitch and Kramer Robertson scored after another throwing error by the shortstop.

Eric Walker improved to 2-0 on the season with six shutout inning where he allowed three hits, walked two, and struck out three.

The Tigers will host Louisiana College (13-4) on Tuesday with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
